Each of our utilities operates as a separate business with its own local management and Board of Directors. In our larger utilities, a majority of those directors are independent and generally come from the area the utility serves. This keeps our utilities close to their customers and regulators. This Fortis model has been a key success factor that allowed us to quickly grow across Canada and into the U.S.
